Katherine’s WVIA Interview
This video interview was filmed by the folks at WVIA, on Jan 15, 2013. In this far-ranging discussion, Katherine and host Erika Funke talk about her newest work as well the genesis of the project that became the Montfort series. She is able to offer some context for how the book became something different from a historical novel: a form that bridges careful research with reasoned conjecture in order to explain some of the contradictions she encountered working with 13th-century source material. A great introduction to her approach and to Simon’s story.

This next interview, with the folks at ‘My Book Addiction and More’ was conducted in March, 2012 and is a revealing look at the backstory to the creation of Katherine’s novel on the life of Simon de Montfort. Her interest was piqued after two reference books described what sounded like two completely different people. To say the man was controversial would be an understatement, and that controversy over his contribution to history has lasted eight hundred years. The interview also provides a quick introduction to the contents of the four volumes of her work ‘MONTFORT’.
